This is an HaRGB image of the Gamma Cygni region, although the star is off to the left of this field of view. The star Gamma Cygni is approximately 750 light years away but it is not related to the huge nebula region that surrounds it. The dust and gas is much more distant, casting a marbled backdrop to this area. It extends about 4 times the view of this image.
